Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actor. Particularly, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents separated to go into Los Angeles to live with her mother. She landed her debut role, as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder in Greenwich. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost on which she acted as a principal character for the initial two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace left the television series in 2005 to focus on a more significant role in film, appearing in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The following year, she appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. She played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two more episodes. This included the series final. She also appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She is Faith as a girl who is a muse for the stars, and draws the attention to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's a Gyllenhaal. daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is younger than Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor roles in several of the films of her father and starred together with her brother in famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) and Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) of which earned the actress Golden Globe Award nods. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In recognition of her role as an unmarried mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other parts include acting as a Secret Service agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a singer in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the title role. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
